Heat pumps run at a lower flow temperature which means additional effort is required to ensure the system will perform efficiently to match your properties heat losses.
We provide you with the design and will also support your installer to ensure a fully MCS compliant heating system.
Air source heat pumps are a remarkable way to harness energy, delivering over 3kW of heat for every 1kW of electricity consumed. With ground source heat pumps reaching an impressive average of 4kW, it's inspiring to know that air source heat pumps can achieve similar efficiency with the right design.
We are excited to offer you a free estimate based on an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).
If the cost aligns with your expectations, we can proceed with a survey to create a tailored design that guarantees the very best in heating and hot water performance. By following MCS Design standards, we empower you and your installer to fully understand your properties heating and hot water design.
MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) is a certification program that sets the UK standard for small-scale renewable energy systems and technologies such as heat pumps. The main aim of the MCS certification is to ensure homeowners making the change to a low carbon heating system have confidence that their installation will be efficient and well designed, installed by a competent installer, using the correct equipment.
Rather than gaining their own MCS accreditation, some plumbing and heating engineers choose to use an MCS umbrella scheme. This ensures their installations are designed and verified by an MCS approved specialist contractor, allowing their customers to benefit from MCS certification.
We will provide an estimate on how much this investment will cost. You can then decide if you just want a design for upgrading your heating and hot water system so that it operates efficiently with your current boiler, ready for a heat pump in the future.
A surveys helps to accurately assess your heating and hot water needs to identify the best solutions. We will complete a room-by-room heat loss to ensure the system is accurately sized, giving you the confidence the heat pump will keep your property warm and satisfy your hot water, with running cost as low as possible.
All our work follows MCS Design standards, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
DNO application to the power network is required to ensure the heat pump will run on the property's power supply, as well as a noise level assessment of the planned heat pump location.
Both certificates of approval must be obtained prior to the installation of the heat pump.
Upon completion of the installation and its subsequent commissioning to meet Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) standards, the handover pack will be provided to your installer.
Ofgem is responsible for administering the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) voucher payment, which constitutes the final contribution towards your new and modern heating and hot water system.
